As part of FC Barcelona's digital initiatives program, I led the launch of the "Recommended for You" feature on Barca TV+, powered by Amazon Web Services' ‘Personalize Engine’. This machine learning-driven feature was a key milestone in the iterative improvements to Barca TV+ since its mid-2020 launch.
We implemented A/B testing to compare the performance of "Recommended for You" against a popular standard widget, providing quantitative data to evaluate its impact. The results were remarkable: video consumption increased by 20% across both web and mobile platforms following the feature's introduction.
This success demonstrated the power of machine learning in personalising user experiences and driving engagement. By delivering tailored content, we enhanced user satisfaction and solidified FC Barcelona’s position as a leader in digital innovation.
